Last week, our children in Adventurers took a trip to our local supermarket to further support their interest in cooking activities. Prior to the trip, the children and practitioners talked about the ingredients they needed, created a list and made their way. Once there, children were able to pick the ingredients needed and placed them in the basket and proceeded to make a payment before leaving to return to nursery.

There were lots of learning opportunities throughout the activity: • Learning about different types of fruits and vegetables
• Seeing the variety and how many items there are
• Learning about the nutritional value and healthy foods
• Expand vocabulary by learning about new food items
• Learning concept of buying items
• Practicing mathematics skills by counting items
• Developing social skills and language

Great work Adventurers!
